Prof. Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. The university is widely acknowledged for starting the modern scientific study of children's eyewitness memories and the role of child victims as witnesses in the legal realm. Professor Goodman has published widely as well as received numerous grants. She has also received numerous national and international prizes. She has advised numerous federal bodies and administrations all over the world on policy and research relating to the treatment of child victims by the justice system. She is a consultant at the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center that was formerly known as it was the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman belongs to the Psychonomics Society, American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was President of the American Psychological Association's three divisions including Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Children and Families Policies and Practice.
