Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas popularly known in the media as Ashanti was born October 13 1980 in Glen Cove New York United States. Ashanti is a United States singer, songwriter as well as an actress. Ashanti is a teen actor and singer American, had her name signed by Murder Inc. Records to release a single in 2002. Ashanti appeared the same day in The Fat Joe's What's Luv? The Fat Joe's What's Luv and Foolish? Her hits include Foolish (number one) and What's Luv! She became the first female artist to hold both of the Top two spots on the The Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States, with Foolish at number one and the other being What's Loving? We can celebrate this special day by celebrating it together. Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, better called Ashanti was born on October 13, 1980 on the 13th of October, 1980 in Glen Cove New York. Tina Douglas, her mother, is a retired dance instructor. Ken-Kaide Douglas is her father. Kenashia Shia is her youngest sibling. Douglas has named her in honour of her father, who was a member of the Ashanti Empire which was located in Ghana where women held power and influence and Douglas wanted Ashanti to model that same pattern. James was her grandfather. He was an activist for civil rights along with Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s. Ashanti was found by her mother after she heard Ashanti sing Mary J. Blige s song Reminisce. Ashanti was an extra for a child in Spike Lee's Malcolm X (released in 1992) and Ted Demme's Who's the Man? There were a few appearances by her included music videos, such as K.R.S. Act One's MC's Like They Do Not Know and 8 Off's Ghetto Woman. Ashanti was wooed and signed by several record labels, including Bad Boy. She also featured in several cameos on music videos. In spite of this her persistence, she continued to perform with her band in New York. Then, she was at Murder Inc. Studios hoping to get a breakthrough. Ashanti was first seen in the role of background vocalist for Big Pun on the song "How We Roll". Ashanti was also on the single by Fat Joe,"What's Luv?" Ja Rule's always punctual and Fat Jojo's What is Luv also featured her. Ashanti sampled the track of 1983 by DeBarge Stay With Me on her debut single Foolish. Ashanti's self-titled first album was made available in 2002 via Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. record label. The Declaration is the fourth Ashanti studio album. The album was released by Murder Inc. on June 3, 2008. Hey Baby (After The Club) was released on radios as well as digital platforms on October 16. She played Latasha in Army Wives and starred in the movie Christmas in the City. Aitch was seen wearing in her Rock wit U sample in Baby on the 10th of March in 2022.
